14 students killed in an elementary school shooting in Uvalde, a heavily Latino city in Texas. Border Patrol also on the scene. I pray for those parents fearing that their kids are dead and debating whether or not they'll be arrested if they go to find out.

Great thread. Was true ten years ago. Still true today.

Students used to enter my classes w simplistic notions about saving the world. My job was to break those ideas down+lead them to more nuanced understandings of social change. Now, students enter class believing nothing matters, and my job is to show them ways change is feasible.

In other news: Lisa and I made the final payment on our greenhouse and the components should be shipping within the next two weeks. So hopefully we'll soon have a greenhouse to work with as our garden continues to grow.

@zachwolfelaw @HannahWVR I handle spiders unless I am the one who was originally spooked by the spider, then it’s their turn to magically handle spiders. Makes 0 sense 🤷🏽 it’s more of a moral support thing. Sometimes the spider gets a free roaming around pass if neither one is up for it.
