Black people (women in particular) keep repeating this lie as a coping mechanism. The reality is white women do not wear wigs. Some, probably like 20%, wear hair extensions. Black women, on the other hand, wear full wigs assembled from hair collected in sewers in India that doesn’t even resemble their texture because they hate their actual hair. Those two things are completely different, but you already knew that.

@celltowerr Locs are not immune. Too many are texturist, afraid of their roots & get constant retwists. Many deride freeform locs. There is a weird class & texturism aspect to Sisterlocs cachet. Even the language like "ugly phase" suggests more decolonization of minds is needed.

Just wash it, condition it, and maybe style it if you want something other than its natural resting state. It can be made wavy, or braided, or dyed.
