@JanSport My son is a 10th grader. We bought him a @jansport Big Student backpack for kindergarten. He has worn it to school since then. It's a little faded but it has survived. Today the big zipper broke. He'd like to use it until graduation so we'll try to get it fixed. ❤️

@Wyzant I really like using your company but it would be helpful if when there is an account issue and you ask me to call customer service, you actually have someone available to answer the phone. Telling me that I am "being held in a queue" is not helpful. Can you please contact me?

Your journey to passing the bar starts with the right guide. Learn from Judy, an attorney with over 20 years of experience helping people pass the UBE. Students refer to Judy as a "godsend" who has helped them increase their scores by over 30 points. bit.ly/4bueeV4

The comment was intended for @ABC7 because the information was relevant and they failed to include it, and that consitutes sloppy reporting. Maybe they will do better next time.
Ben@beneye

@jjamesjd @ABC7 The time you spent complaining you could’ve pulled up a map on your phone and locate Tonga. You do know how I ripple in the water travels right? Or do you want info on that too?

@ABC7 Re tsunami warning. Wouldn't it be relevant to indicate what countries are being warned to watch for the tsunami?

Many people ask, why is the Palisades Fire only 11% contained? This is the current view of the Palisades Fire from Topanga Peak looking toward Brentwood, the area that was most active over the last 24 hours. The reason a fire like this is only 11% contained is because firefighters have to cover every inch of perimeter before they can call it contained. This process is accomplished through old fashioned labor. Chainsaws have to cut open all the brush so firefighters can literally put their bare hands in the ash on the edge to ensure it’s cold. If it’s not, they have to work to extinguish all the hotspots. If you can’t call the section of your Division cold and dead out, Fire managers cannot put a black line on the map to call it contained. Many times, firefighters on the line would consider a fire 80% contained when it’s reported to be 25% contained. Fire managers are careful not to quickly add containment if a lot of work is yet to be accomplished. Also, people looking up at the mountain who don’t see any smoke wonder why containment isn’t higher. It takes time to physically run your hands across every inch of the MILES of perimeter to ensure you can call your division good. And it’s very important to remember that critical Fire weather is predicted through Wednesday. All control lines will be tested by the winds over the next couple days. If they hold, containment will likely start to increase quickly next week. It takes time, and a ton of physical labor by crews with 60lbs on their backs to ground truth every inch of fireline. Even if there are 100 miles of it…

@LAUSDSup, just fyi some of us in the Evacuation Warning Zones for the Palisades Fire (we were told to pack but not required to leave), are not currently allowed to leave our neighborhoods unless we are evacuating . If we leave we cannot go home so zoom classes would be helpful.

@CAL_FIRE thank you to all the firefighters that worked so hard throughout the night to keep Encino safe. It was touch and go there for a while as the fire roared up and then was pushed back and it roared up again. Back and forth all night until almost 5am.

Evacuation zones have now merged between the #PalisadesFire and the newly sparked #KennethFire near Hidden Hills. Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to evacuate in LA County, and this number is expected to grow with new evacuations affecting Calabasas, Hidden Hills, and West Hills.

@Ishansharma7390 Hospitality standards differ from country to country, but for exceptional service in Las Vegas, I recommend @FourSeasons at Mandalay Bay. I have stayed many times at their hotels in the US and abroad and I have never been disappointed.

My biggest culture shock - American Hotels They just don't get hospitality. Funny how they ask for tips but won't even give complementary water. I stayed at 3 star, 4 star AND today 5 star hotel (Caesar's Palace) Maybe I'm spoilt with Taj hotels in India. But basic things like helping with luggage, being accomodating were missing. I check in at 2am tired from the flight and asked for a glass of water, they say "it's $14.99 for a 200ml bottle you can buy it". And this is a $200 per night hotel! Complete lack of empathy. Unbelievable! Never expected this :/

Friday tradition: ending the week with some shared joy. Tell me something good. What good thing happened in your life this week? Monumental or momentary, just something good. (And check out others’ replies. They are always chicken soup for the soul.)

@FOXLA I thought In N Out already paid well in excess of minimum wage, so why would that particular requirement have any effect on it except to help business by putting finitsancial strain on any competitors that did not?

With strong winds in our area, a reminder to be careful around any downed wires and immediately report them to 911. Always assume downed lines are live and dangerous!
