I'm excited to announce we have achieved our Tier 1 mission success criteria and have begun gathering a tremendous amount of data on how this brand new spacecraft performs. On March 30th, 13:17:08Z, the Gravitas spacecraft separated from the SpaceX Transporter-16 stack to begin its mission as one of the highest power free-flying satellites ever launched. Immediately after separation, the spacecraft autonomously: - Executed detumbling maneuvers - Established two-way communications with the ground (on our very first ground station pass) - Deployed its 20kW solar arrays - Slewed to a safe and stable attitude to await further ground commands These actions alone are a testament to the incredible work of our in-house engineering, software, and GNC teams to build a robust spacecraft. Since then, our operations team completed all initial system activations and checkouts, confirming the vehicle is in a power positive and thermally stable state with no major anomalies observed at this time. We completed this phase of the mission ahead of schedule. Next up we will be powering up and downlinking data for all payloads aboard the Gravitas spacecraft in support of our customers and partners while continuing to put the spacecraft through its paces. As we noted ahead of launch: The goal of this mission is to experiment and push our systems to the limit to inform future missions. I look forward to sharing more on our successes and challenges as the mission proceeds. Video of our satellite below; link to full T-16 webcast: x.com/SpaceX/status/…

I’ve been waiting literally decades for NASA to articulate a plan for a Moon base. Now Carlos Garcia-Galan is doing a masterful job of precisely this. Dozens of landings. Drones. RTGs. Rovers. Habitats. Excavators. This is incredible stuff.

A space jellyfish was seen far and wide across the U.S. east coast this morning as a Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Florida at 5:52am ET and climbed into the rising sun 🚀🪼❤️ Check out the new tool to forecast these - started off with a great one! jellyfish.johnkrausphotos.com

We all work together for space safety
Starlink@Starlink

SpaceX has developed a novel Space Situational Awareness (SSA) system, called Stargaze → starlink.com/stargaze To maximize safety for all satellites in space, @SpaceX will be making Stargaze conjunction data available to all operators, free of charge. By providing this ephemeris sharing and conjunction screening service free of charge, we hope to motivate operators to take similar steps towards ephemeris sharing and safe flight.

Very excited to announce that Astranis is building a new satellite for Oman. We've signed a 9-figure contract with MB Group —the largest oil and gas conglomerate in Oman— to bring Oman its first dedicated communications satellite. This partnership was announced today in Oman with the leadership of MB Group and senior government officials from the Oman Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. The deal is part of an overall $200 million investment by MB Group in sovereign connectivity, advancing the Vision 2040 program by the Oman government. This satellite will go up on our Block 3 launch later this year, going from contract to operations in months, not years. Sovereign connectivity is no longer optional. Countries need private, secure networks to know their data is secure and in the right hands. Astranis builds dedicated satellites that make this possible, giving our customer full control over payload configuration, coverage, and network operations. We are the only company that gives our customers a standalone, dedicated network that spans their geography of choice and delivers enterprise-grade security, customizability, and operational visibility of the network and data traffic. This type of infrastructure is impossible to replicate with shared networks or terrestrial links alone. And that's why countries like Oman and Taiwan are choosing Astranis. We built Astranis on the belief that access to secure, reliable communications infrastructure is foundational to growth. It's an honor to partner with MB Group and Oman, and we look forward to supporting the people of Oman and their digital future for many years to come.

With the heaviest heart, I have to share that our beautiful Liv passed away peacefully today, cradled in my arms, surrounded by all of us holding her so close and pouring love over her until she quietly slipped into forever sleep. Our hearts are completely broken, yet we know her short, precious life has left the deepest, most beautiful mark on us forever. ❤️💔

What a year! This year, Falcon 9 launched hundreds of spacecraft for our commercial, government, and international customers, 16 astronauts to orbit, critical science and supplies to the @Space_Station, multiple lunar landers, and more! We also made significant progress in development of Starship propellant transfer and the HLS crewed lunar lander, including docking hardware builds, avionics testbeds, tests for crewed systems, lunar landing navigation, and more. Looking forward to even more exciting missions in the year ahead!

Once in a while, it is important to take a step back and appreciate how ridiculous life sometimes is. Seeing K2 show up in Times Square is one of those moments. A big thanks to @Nasdaq and everyone who else who supported us @K2SpaceCo over the last week - the feedback has been incredible. Now, back to work.
