If you're watching The Open ... DeChambeau clearly trampled down the deep fescue to give himself a cleaner backswing/downswing. He deserves a 2-shot penalty. But now it appears he's threatening not to play tomorrow. This tournament will be just fine without him.

So it’s over. United States was ranked 16th coming in to World Cup so 2nd Round exit is on par. Final score shows how far US has to go in this sport. Belgium is a world powerhouse. As host US was successful, filled stadiums, people who came here seemed to have fun, they sold a lot of TV commercials. There was a lot of corporate hype and some people believed they were contenders. But the US has reached QF just twice in 96-year history of WC and won’t here in 2026. I would have loved to see them win. Who doesn’t love a winner? This is not a negative post. But like one of the post-game commentators said, “this was a reality check.” And the reality is soccer is NOT our sport. Don’t know that it ever will be. I’m fine with that

For 90% of the game, Haaland just lurks around. He hardly even pays attention to the ball. But then - out of a sudden - at the exact right moment, he awakens, scores a historic goal, and immediately goes back to lurking around. He cannot be replicated.
