@graceclarke Don’t do it until you have money to buy any accessories they need and a sense of self that says “I am a cool person who likes X, spends my time doing Y, and my self care is Z.” Otherwise “mom” becomes your whole personality.

If my mom groups are any indication, grandparents love mocking and disregarding parents’ safety guidelines only to be annoyed that parents don’t want them to have a weekend stay-over with their 9-month-old.

@TheKateDylan @booksandsocks I’ve never heard of this! Despite long outlines my first drafts read very cleanly but have messy planning underneath. Then I dread editing for structural issues. Reversing my process so planning comes first and the “editing” is really writing the fun bits might work!
