@ClintHurdle13 @rcollison12 My drill is to refocus on another aspect of life tied to the work you are having struggles with. Time away from the problem, with rest and reflection along the way, releases my brain from the cycle of spinning wheels and rehashing the issues. Focusing on a different thing resets

During one of the worst losing streaks of my career, our team president walked into my office. Keli McGregor. One of the best men I've ever known. He could have come to vent. To question my decisions. To ask hard questions. Instead, he said: "Cut to the chase, Clint. What's next?" I looked him in the eye and gave him two words: "Shower well." The Colorado Rockies were struggling badly that year. Pregame preparation was solid. Scout meetings, early work, attention to detail. All of it was there. But at game time, the tires were flat. I told Keli: the game did everything it could to us today. We just couldn't meet its demands. Now it was time to reset. "Shower well" means exactly this: • Watch the frustration circle down the drain • Shampoo, rinse, repeat and get the grime of today completely off your mind • Walk out clean, go home, and actually rest Leave it at the ballpark. The game is over. There's nothing left to solve tonight. Keli nodded. Asked if he could share it with the whole organization. I said sure. And then it hit me. This isn't just for baseball. Bad day at the office. Grumpy boss. Missed deadline. Traffic on the way home. You can carry all of that through your front door. Or you can shower well. I've never seen a single problem get better because someone dragged it home with them. The reset is a discipline. Same as preparation. Same as showing up. Either we win. Or we learn. The only real loss? When you don't take a single thing out of a hard day. So tonight, whatever kind of day it was, shower well. Tomorrow is a new at-bat. What does your reset look like? I'd love to hear it.

@jtlinder Great post, Jeff. Couldn’t agree more to showcase kids willing to stay with the sport even in the face of adversity and score board imbalance. Basketball is more than wins and losses! Learning, growing and working hard! Kuddos to CVC keeping a team all six years long.

Gonna throw a bit of love the direction of Cedar Valley Christian girls basketball. No, the Huskies haven't won a game in more than six years. BUT ... they had 13 girls that participated this season, and that's more than a lot of schools can say. #iahsbkb

My mother passed away today at the age of 84. She was a rock for me, someone I always talked to about life. Her and my dad gave us unconditional love and support. They provided us everything we needed tho not necessarily all we wanted. Mom, I love you so much. Thank you. 🙏🙏

@ReelLifeJustin I believe deep down your answer is no. The adventure and human spirit is what you are aiming for…AI defeats (some/most) of that spirit. Stay true and keep your North Star! My advice…..from a new follower.

People keep asking for permission to use AI for the treasure hunt. Here's what I'm wrestling with: I wrote that clause in the copyright section of my book forbidding AI because I wanted to embrace what it means to be human -- the obsessive intuition that wakes you up at 3 AM convinced you finally understand what everything means. I wanted the finder to earn their certainty, not prompt it into existence. The paradox: I wrote a puzzle for human minds, and now you're asking if you can bring an intellect that dwarfs our own. And while I'm mulling this over, the less scrupulous have already decided for me. Tyler's ready to unleash AVA (I'm not implying he is unscrupulous!). Others are probably six iterations deep. Maybe the playing field was never level to begin with. So here's my answer, and it's the only honest one I can give right now: I'm still wrestling with this. AI can find patterns I never intended. But it can't obsess. It can't feel the weight of being wrong fifteen times and still coming back. It can't earn that moment when everything finally clicks. If an algorithm solves it, someone else's intelligence found my treasure. Not yours. And I wonder: when that happens, will you be standing there holding gold, wondering why it feels empty? I don't have my answer yet. But that's the question keeping me up at night.
