You don't say you're going to bomb 90 million people back to the Stone Age when you're the leader of the free world. 👇🏼 That is an inappropriate statement. It is beneath the office. And it is beneath this country. But here's what he's actually doing with that rhetoric. He's softening the public up for ground troops. That's the tell. You don't talk like that unless you're preparing people psychologically for what comes next. And what comes next — I have it at 55 to 60 percent probability — is ground troops going into Iran. And once ground troops are in, everything changes. The Strait of Hormuz situation becomes infinitely more complex. Oil flow becomes a live variable in a shooting war and here's the piece nobody is talking about loudly enough: 40 to 50 percent of that oil flows to China. If ground troops go in and the Strait gets disrupted — we are simultaneously slowing down the Chinese economy. That is not a side effect. That may be part of the calculation. But you are playing with fire at a scale that has consequences for every economy on earth including ours. $300 oil doesn't just hurt China. It destroys the American consumer. Think carefully about what you're being prepared to accept.

Nobody wants World War III. Let me be very clear about that. And yet here we are. Trump has spent years ridiculing our allies. Treating NATO partners like adversaries and now he wants those same people to send their frigates into the Strait of Hormuz alongside us. Germany's Defense Minister Pistorius said it most plainly. What does Trump expect a handful of European frigates to do in the Strait of Hormuz that the most powerful Navy in the history of the world cannot do on its own? Answer that question. I'll wait. Keir Starmer said this was never going to be a NATO mission and I think the Europeans are making exactly the right call by staying out. Because here's the escalation scenario that terrifies me. Europeans get pulled in. China feels compelled to respond. Russia sees an opening. And suddenly a regional conflict becomes something that nobody alive has ever seen before. World War III. Now someone needs to find the exit ramp before ego and improvisation make that conversation impossible.

Newsflash, you sniveling little keyboard bitch: @SecWar actually went to war. He deployed to Guantanamo, Iraq, and Afghanistan as an infantry officer. He earned two Bronze Stars, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and led troops while getting shot at and dodging RPGs. Real bullets, real enemies, real balls. You? You’re a suit who probably gets winded walking to the Starbucks in Dallas. Zero combat. Zero deployments. Zero clue what it’s like to send men into actual fire while the country watches. Yet here you are, with your delicate little feelings, demanding we fire the one guy with actual warrior experience because he didn’t spend enough years polishing a desk in the Pentagon like the rest of the spineless generals who turned our military into a rainbow recruitment ad. We’re in the middle of dropping hammers on Iran and your soy-latte ass is whimpering about on-the-job training? Motherfucker, the military doesn’t need another cautious bureaucrat who respects the institution so much he helped castrate it. It needs fighters who aren’t afraid to break shit and win. Hegseth has more combat grit in one deployment than you’ve got in your entire bloodline. So shut the fuck up, pop whatever testosterone supplement you can find (or borrow some from a real man), touch some grass, and let the adults handle the war while you go back to tweeting about property taxes and delivery apps. Pathetic. Embarrassing. Exactly why this country got weak in the first place.

Sec Hegseth should be fired. Yes, he served, and that deserves respect. But he does not have the experience for this job. He went from a National Guard Major and a TV host to running the entire U.S. military, a multi-trillion dollar operation with global war responsibilities. He has zero senior command experience. Zero large-scale organizational leadership. Zero prior top-level national security role. And we’re in a live conflict with a country like Iran. This is not the time for on-the-job training. I truly hope POTUS is considering it.

The main issue: launching a war against Iran is foolish due to Iran’s ability to shut down the SOH, the effect that has on the economy, our alliances in the Gulf & the strength of the petrodollar etc. We could have contained Iran w/Sanctions & CT strikes (like Solmani) & let the regime organically collapse overtime or negotiated. Attacking Iran directly has only emboldened the regime & the hardliners. This war only benefits Israel, as their goal is to create chaos within Iran so the regime can’t pose a threat to Israel. Israel needs us to lead these efforts because they lack the military capability but also so we value the intel they give us on Iran. America at war with Iran increases the value of Intel on Iran that Israel provides, this is the commodity Israel deals in. We do not benefit from this war & are losing our standing in the world because of it.
AG@AGHamilton29

This is deliberate misinformation. It's a tell that you can't argue these points honestly. 1) Enrichment is the most important step for developing nuclear weapons. Always has been. The focus on enrichment has/had nothing to do with Israel. Even the Obama nuclear deal was centered on enrichment levels. No one actually believes that the fatwa, which no one has seen, was anything but a public misinformation tool from a regime that lies about almost everything. While they moved the program underground in 2004, there has been overwhelming evidence since 2004, including published documents, that the regime has an active nuclear weapons program, so you would have to pretend like all of these regime officials and scientists were actively ignoring the fatwa to seriously cite it. Specifically on the enrichment point: It was an IAEA report, hardly a pro-Israel entity, last February, that determined the regime had increased its stockpile of 60% enriched uranium by 50% in a period of 4-6 months. Enough highly enriched uranium to make 7 nuclear bombs. There is no civilian purpose for enriching uranium at that level, and they are the only non-nuclear state in the world to be doing so. It doesn't take a genius to connect the dots. That's what led to the strikes last year. Neither the regime nor you can explain why they were developing highly enriched uranium clearly meant for a bomb if they weren't planning to or allowed to build a bomb. 2) Nuclear weapons, while the biggest issue, were never the only concern for Trump or his administration. Trump didn't take out Soleimani because of nuclear weapons, but because he had organized a massive terror proxy network that was consistently destabilizing the region, and encouraging terror attacks in the Gulf, the United States, and Europe. It's a tell that you guys continually leave out how the Gulf states also view the Islamic Republic as the key threat and actively are supporting efforts to degrade the regime because it's inconvenient to the "this is all about Israel" narrative. It's the UAE, more than anyone, that wants the war to continue until there is regime change. Yet no one claims that Trump is being controlled by them or the Saudis (because he is not). Trump has also seen the evidence that the Islamic Republic has actively planned to assassinate him since Soleimani. And while you can push conspiracies about that, it doesn't change the facts that they have an active assassination program that has repeatedly targeted Americans. Or that they are responsible for thousands of American troop deaths, which many Americans have never forgotten. Their ballistic missile and terror proxy programs are also major threats. The big knock on JCPOA, which is why Trump left it, was that it didn't address those issues, so it let the Islamic Republic terrorize everyone without consequences. They refused to put those on the table in the recent negotiation. The "Death to America" Islamic Republic has been fighting a proxy war targeting Americans since 1979. We have been focused on responding to the proxies and simply playing defense the whole time. They built up terror proxies and an extensive ballistic missile program as protection to allow them to continue the covert and one-sided war, but those protections have been severely degraded since 10/7, thanks to Israel. Trump made the call that now was the time to stop playing defense and take on the head of the snake to permanently put an end to that war. You might disagree with the timing or his decision, but that doesn't change the context or that he himself made it.

Well, got the orthopedic review this morning and it’s not good Severe osteoarthritis — no cartilage left And massive osteophytes that block range of motion They said mobility work is likely to be of no use — same with stem cells and PRP Gave me a cortisone shot and recommended finding ways to avoid impinging motion (no bench presses, etc). And told me I’ll definitely need shoulder replacement surgery in the future. I'm not happy about the diagnosis. But not surprised either. I will not let it deter me from living an active, fit & fulfilling life. So I won't be slowing down, though I'll be more mindful in what I do shoulder-wise Remember: We can't control what happens to us. But we can control how we respond to it. Focus on the latter. I am.
