FWIW, I never forced my sons to watch old movies. But when they were young, I'd let them stay up an hour or so past bedtime on school nights if they'd watch an older movie with me. We started off with Jackie Chan, JAWS, samurai films, westerns. Very soon they developed a taste.

One thing I've noticed is that a lot of young parents are afraid to force their kids to do anything, and that INCLUDES forcing them to watch old movies with you. It's like this whole bastardization of "gentle parenting" is also killing our cultural heritage

@Jamie_Nash We met at Warner Bros. on this when there was a brief moment it was going to be a Ryan Gosling film with Nic Refn directing. Obviously that didn't happen.
