@Patrick_Fenelon I can't really think of a better way than the possession arrow. Any contest like a jump gives advantage one way or the other. Possession arrow is arbitrary but fair, and even of you don't get poss you at least get the arrow back for the next one

I don’t like jump balls or possession arrows. Jump balls are time consuming & deter smaller players from tying up big men. I’d like a 3rd option.

I have never seen a single episode of GoT but just ended up with HBO go. Is there merit to me spearheading a weekly podcast summarizing the experience of jumping in and watching the show backwards? This is a real idea you guys

@JustinPinotti I think it makes the most sense to just start with the most recent season finale, watch that episode from beginning to end, and then on to the prior episode and so forth all the way back to the pilot. I'll figure it all out eventually

@AverageJer Haha yeah shows are kind of an investment these days. Content overload makes a grass is always greener approach to abandoning ship on shows to switch to another. There are so many good not great ones though

@AverageJer It's a solid enough show to watch the whole season. It's not fantastic, but I liked it just fine.

@nba_poop_hat Its iffy. I think westerns have to be more or less cowboy-centric in some way. Mexican banditos is close enough I guess, but the setting alone isnt enough. Like, Mad Max style desert movies cant qualify even though they have some of the principal elements

@jmerrrow Hmm good question. Not sure if/when Mexican drug war splits off into its own mini genre?

western is by far the worst genre of movie, and it isn't close

@jmerrrow Like, a film version of Blood Meridian is what i expected out of the genre before giving it a good faith effort. Heroes, desperados, bandits, and cops (plus your standard double cross) just seems like a formula destined to fail.

@jmerrrow My man, it is not for lack of seeing the films. Once upon a time is the best of the Leone films and is still blah. Peckenpah is miles better than Leone and the Wild Bunch is still mediocre outside of the train caper and the scene where everyone hits the whiskey.

@nba_poop_hat Have you seen Once Upon a Time in the West? It’s in my all time top 50. Rio Bravo is probably the best of the John Wayne era. The Netflix miniseries Godless was pretty solid. The Wild Bunch is also on Netflix and should be seen by every movie lover

@nba_poop_hat I don’t even know where to begin on this. Your dig on average run time is fair, but I think slower development is a necessary part of the setting (i.e. “epic” is an integral part of the western genre).
