@eshanbuilds @cgtwts Is it really that much debt if it can just clean it? Reminds me almost of early server less days, needs rework - throw it out, write again, it's only a fn.

honestly the context window recursively improving its own attention mechanism is literally the singularity happening in a private repo. we are watching a model optimize its own architecture in real time and just calling it a sprint.
wait is anyone actually tracking the technical debt these auto-generated commits are stacking up though?

Anthropic CEO:
“ I have engineers within anthropic who don’t write any code, they just let Claude write the code and they edit it and look it over”
“At anthropic writing code means designing the next version of Claude it self, so we essentially have Claude designing the next version of Claude itself, not completely but most of it”.
In the last 52 days, the Claude team dropped 50+ major feature launches.
This is literally INSANE.

@milan_milanovic Except real developers know our sole job was always to replace people with code. It is coming faster than you think.

@unclebobmartin Always was a chore, now it's just a different chore.

@taylorotwell But you don't have to pull the trigger on things you are asking it for, right away. It's just code, play with it as you ask it questions to find the elegant solutions. Thankfully we don't work in concrete.

A few things I've noticed as all devs write code with AI.
When you write foundational / architectural code of a new project by hand, you "feel" the code pushing back if your abstraction isn't right. You feel when something is harder than it should be. The code is telling you it's not in the right shape. Good engineers are sensitive to this.
When you're using an LLM, you keep pushing right through this in a way that feels like you're making progress, and it may even be directionally correct in a sense, but the underlying foundation of it all is actually bad in a way that either kills progress of the LLM later as it buckles under the complexity it has created or destroys your ability to maintain the code long term.
Related to this, I see a general restlessness with just sitting and thinking about a problem for a while.
As I've been working on a new library here at Laravel, there have been days where it feels like I mainly just stare at my screen thinking about something. When Claude Code is at your fingertips, it's tempting to just start yapping into the terminal and watching code come out the other end. Again, directionally correct in some ways, but often doesn't land on the elegant solution that is waiting to be discovered.

@OneManCircus87 Tomorrow? Tomorrow your work gets inspected, and they tell you it's not good enough, see you in 6mo.

What happens when you drink 10 oz of Magnesium Citrate?
I’m glad you asked. Buckle up.
12:05 p.m. — It begins. You down the 10-ounce bottle like it’s a lukewarm PBR at a college tailgate. The label says “cherry flavored,” but it tastes like someone described cherry to a chemist who’s never eaten fruit. Regret sets in instantly.
12:06 p.m. — You grab a handful of chips for moral support. They’ll be liquified before they clear your throat, but who cares? Life still feels okay right now. Remember this peace. You’re about to enter the darkest chapter of your gastrointestinal history.
12:37 p.m. — The rumbling starts. There’s movement in the depths. You’ve got five pounds of impacted regret in your colon, and you just drank the “human-safe” version of Drano. You think it’s go time. It’s not. You get one sad little snake turd — a warm-up act.
That’s the last semi-solid you’ll see for the next 24 hours.
12:57 p.m. — The situation escalates. Your stomach is in full revolt. You have 0.3 seconds to make it to the toilet. Running is risky business — one wrong step and you’ll paint the walls. You pray for sphincter strength like never before as you waddle at Mach 3, pants half down, whispering, “Please, God, not like this.”
12:58 p.m. — Impact.
You sit, and the gates of hell open.
The explosion is biblical. It hits the back of the bowl with such violent force it ricochets like a sprinkler system.
You ask yourself, Is that blood?
No — false alarm. Just the ghost of a cherry pie you ate in 2004. The smell is unspeakable. The acoustics? Terrifying. The neighbors think you’re performing an exorcism.
1:06 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. — Time becomes meaningless. You’ve evacuated everything you’ve ever eaten, plus a few ancestral meals for good measure. Your colon feels like it’s been sandblasted with lava. The burn is real. You’re sweating. Crying. Contemplating life. You meet Jesus briefly, but He sends you back — says your mission’s not over yet.
8:37 p.m. — You’re empty. Broken. Reborn.
Your butthole? A war veteran.
Your spirit? In recovery.
You’ll never be the same, but you will survive.
Tomorrow, you’ll rise from the ashes, slip into your last clean pair of underwear, and waddle into Walmart like a survivor of gastrointestinal warfare — to buy a new toilet brush and reclaim your dignity.
You’ve earned it.
Feeling thankful. 💩🙏

it's been 6 months... is AI writing 90% of your code?
Haider.@haider1
Anthropic CEO, Dario Amodei in the next 3 to 6 months, AI is writing 90% of the code, and in 12 months, nearly all code may be generated by AI

@NDTVProfitIndia 99% people commenting have zero idea how tech deals work. Tech companies are in every country - eg - TCS will sign contracts from its UK entity and UK entity will sub contract to India - US Co's will pay UK. Understand how in services T&M & managed services work. +1
