@MatthewEvolves One thing that's always overlooked in this never-ending discourse is apparently the cost of demolishing Olympic Stadium would also be in the billions (in part due to the fact it sits on an active subway station).
So spend billions tearing it down or refurbishing it.

Very true. It would be bad enough if Canadians had decided to just outsource our defence to America because we were choosing to spend on other things.

I remember having these discussions with coworkers in the 90’s after a few too many drinks after work. almost all of them said we really shouldn’t have a military at all. They were also all of the people you would expect to think that we are ‘better’ certainly to the USA, but most all other countries as well. Smugness in the extreme. We pay for that now.

Point is, going into this situation with the mindset of “I don’t know the invader’s plan so I’m allowed to kill him just in case” is extremely ill advised.
