@DiaryofaSickGrl Lumbar support pillows.
I’ve been on Lexapro since 2001. I’ve attempted to wean myself off it several times. Never made it longer than 6 months. Fabulous Lexapro.
Still struggling with ADHD med side effects. Coffee remains my medication of choice for functional daytime hours.

@DiaryofaSickGrl My mom has a walker with a seat, and the seat has a little fold-up storage area. Amazing.
Ice pack hat for migraines.
CBD hasn’t helped with either migraines or anxiety as much as I hoped, but propranolol has been awesome.
Sumatriptan. Life saver.
English

@MisfitMH @DiaryofaSickGrl That is genius, honestly.
English

@danaherbert @DiaryofaSickGrl Can you give recommendations for these? I’ve also been defaulting to these when I’m stuck at home
English

@DiaryofaSickGrl I wear lightweight cotton kaftans/muumuus from India. I sleep in them & they are pretty enough to wear around the house or run around my apartment building in or even run an errand in or use as a beach cover up. I have enough for a month, then I wash in cold water and hang dry.
English

@DiaryofaSickGrl Body doubling /coworking with others through Zoom calls, to help me get things done with my ADHD!

Everything is fake until proven otherwise.

It isn't just AI generated text that is starting to bleed over into search results. The main image if you do a Google search for Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwoʻole (whose version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow you have probably hear) is a Midjourney creation right from Reddit.

@CannistraroJohn @whereisyvette Sometimes small talk takes too much brain power and effort. The period of time when a new parent has a 4 week old infant absolutely obliterating their sleep is definitely one of those times.
English

@whereisyvette It's small talk. People are looking to make a connection since you're in the parent club now. Although I know it can feel inane and repetitive.

For fun I downloaded the data and ran a quick periodicity search, and I calculated that one lunar (synodic!) month lasts 29.62 days. Only off by 0.3%!

depths of wikipedia!@depthsofwiki
the graph of traffic to the "full moon" article is so satisfying

@notanastronomer I am considerably less pleased, letter writers

@BenneHolwerda If it worked in the US, might as well export the model elsewhere.
English

@whereisyvette @KarinaVoggel Also, PhDs are much more expensive in the US than they were just a couple years ago. $2k/month for the smallest possible apartment, on $35K/year salary? And food costs more, too?
I mean, follow your dream, but you gotta sleep somewhere, too.
English

@whereisyvette @KarinaVoggel Sure, and that has been my attitude. But some frighteningly large number of us also came out of it with chronic depression. Everybody has to do their own calculation, but I think that can, and does, and SHOULD change the math on this.
English

@KarinaVoggel @ashleyruba_phd TL;DR it’s not an advert for capitalism. Capitalism has ^already^ ruined the PhD system in the US, and is in the process of wrecking the public university system overall. It’s very fair to look at most of a decade of mental abuse and poverty wages and opt to take a pass.
English

@KarinaVoggel @ashleyruba_phd Spoiler: I’m one of them.
But it’s fair to look at those numbers and conclude you don’t like the odds.
