🌾 Shielding Rice, Securing Harvests 🌾 Introducing Sheath Blight Resistant Rice Lines by @NIPGRsocial & @iirr_icar collaboration. BRIC-NIPGR, in collaboration with ICAR-IIRR, has identified a genetic locus for sheath blight tolerance and successfully introgressed this resistance into high-yielding rice varieties such as DRR Dhan, Swarna, and ISM. These improved rice lines are currently undergoing multi-location AICRP trials. To support future breeding efforts, the resistant donor lines have also been formally registered.
