Today, I taught my first class as an assistant professor and met the brilliant @UGAGrady students in my PR foundations class! What a great group and I'm excited to meet more @AdPR_UGA students in my ethics class tomorrow. Go Dawgs!

"The only way to confront [the world's most important problems] is to make decisions based on evidence. Producing evidence through research and analysis is what RAND does… It's one of the reasons I'm optimistic about the future." bit.ly/3HBt5OD

On climate action: "People might be confused, but that's because some industries are engaged in disinformation to protect their profits and agendas. But we know what the challenge is, we know what needs to be done..." @MelissaFinucane is interviewed on @BBCWorld ahead of COP27.

Interesting: "Misinformation, Anticipated Regret, and Vaccine Related Behaviors" tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.108… by @jodywcs et al "...exposure to misinformation will validate their lack of anticipated regret about not getting vaccinated, which leads to fewer protective behaviors."

Our research suggests that overall, strategic messaging surrounding the #COVID19pandemic should concentrate on promoting cohesiveness by drawing separate individuals closer, such as highlighting more inter-group similarities.

Drawing social distance closer between oneself and others may motivate people to help others. As social distance decreases, people report stronger negative emotions & sympathy, as well as higher risk perception. Thus, support for #COVID19 aid response measures also increases.
