I used a video of a stammering politician facing a difficult question from a reporter as a metaphor to explain stammering youth club coaches facing difficult questions from parents. Is that all you’ve got? The metaphor was obviously lost on you. If you contribute to the game and youth player education and development in any meaningful way, state your credentials and provide an educated opinion to the topic initiated by Todd. If you don’t contribute in any meaningful way to youth player, education and development, then state a rational opinion on the topic at hand as a consumer or observer. So far, from you it’s been nothing but ad hominem, and that’s not very compelling at all is it?

@joecampos Yikes. So, you eat Trump propaganda. Disgusting. You clearly do not have the youth/future generations best interest in mind....

There are CLEAR and OBVIOUS differences between youth soccer clubs when it comes to identity, method, commitment to coach education and player education. Every coach is on the same page or none of them are. Parents can perform a simple test to discover the truth. ASK your team coach a few questions. What is the club’s identity? What is the club’s methodology? Who is the club’s director of methodology? Who is responsible for making sure every coach is planning and executing their training sessions in accordance with the club’s methodology? How often does the director of methodology hold all coaches meetings for education? Is there frequent and regular homework and study for coaches? Which club leader is responsible for making sure coaches are complying? If they hem and haw and start talking gibberish like AOC, then you know you’re dealing with ignorance and lack of organization and commitment to coach and player education. You’ll know it’s not a club but a shopping mall of independent coaches (shops) who can teach anything or nothing at all. Ask questions and you’ll find out quickly who is faking it and has no answers. See, for example, AOC.

It’s a hot topic… Colorado cuts its youth affiliates. Girona starts a program. FCB, La Liga, Liverpool, Man U, Valencia, etc. More than we can count. ▪️Consumer Protection Advice Be vigilant. These pro clubs have marketing departments that sell licenses regionally and do not do this for pro pathways. They do it for brand recognition and ticket or merchandise sales. Sometimes for the clothing brands that sponsor them. Usually there is an internal marketing or a sports management group behind it. Logos sell. They know it. They may not lie, but some mislead parents and players. These are not pro pathways in the way some present. I have had firsthand experience in this at two of the best youth academies in Europe and one top flight club in Mexico. ✔️Choose a program because your child loves the coaches and learns from them. Find that experience and it may come from your local club, a high school or from a logo program. If you are being sold top flight pathway to the pros, you are being misguided. ▪️ Disclaimer I run a private training method and programs from 2 weeks to 1 month. It may seem like I am criticizing for profit. Fair point. So it may seem. However, the reason I started TOVO ironically was to create a pure development program. No politics. No power struggles. We never promise pro contracts or mislead in marketing for this very reason. I have been on the inside and I know what is sales nonsense and what is quality programming. ▪️Focus Find a wholesome place for your child to fall in love with the beautiful game. If that is at a logo camp or other big brand, great. If that is with the local coach who inspires and cares for kids, great. Do your homework as a parent and your diligence will be rewarded in your child’s passion. ✔️ Smiles and high fives are the certification of approval. Find good people who care about kids. Good luck and be well. #TOVO #footballintelligence

My goal is help create a club/program where the quality of our environment (development, methodology, parent education) speaks louder than the platform we play. Lead with our work vs access to exposure.

Not strange at all. It a visual with impact. It’s a recent and real example of someone who can’t answer a direct question because they don’t know the subject matter, are out of their depth and are trying to fake it till they make it. She was only the most recent and high profile example. My point isn’t political simply because she is a politician. There are others like her, right, left and center, as well as non-politicians, like some youth soccer coaches, who also have no answers to direct questions.

@joecampos I like your stuff and you ask great questions about clubs but to point her out is a little strange. There are people on both sides that hem and haw but not only that, we have people, again on both sides, that can't answer questions intelligently, use gibberish or lie to our faces

Both organizations are insurance companies selling useless player cards featuring secondary insurance that is hardly ever used. They bank millions of dollars in insurance premiums and hardly ever pay any claims. The consolidation of two insurance companies is something that should require FTC review.

So what are everyone's theories about the US Club Soccer and the potential US Youth Soccer ... Merging? Partnering? Contracting out serviced? Whatever we want to call it... with USSF? Why? Why now? Benefits? Fears? Conspiracy?

Carstens admitted in the interview to sending messages to Delcy Rodriguez, Venezuela’s de facto President. U.S. law prohibits such communications by private citizens if intended to influence the conduct or measures of any foreign government or foreign government officer. Did 60 Minutes not know about this law or did Scott Pelley ask Carstens whether he sent messages in order to put a positive spin on what may or may not have been improper communications? @AGPamBondi law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18…

“It'd probably be very easy for the United States to, you know, rearm, re-up, and then go right back [into Venezuela] to grab people,” says former top hostage negotiator Roger Carstens. “The right move for everyone is to just start to work together.” cbsn.ws/3N74cPK

Many assume that playing out of the back is riskier than playing long. How many post when a long ball ends up with the other team and leads to a goal against? 🫟Anything done poorly has consequences. Anything done well has rewards. Find the space and exploit it. #TOVO

Poor initial positioning by #2. Instead of positioning herself behind the first line of pressure she is in front of it. The first pass beats no one and attracts pressure. Neither Goalkeeper nor any other players did anything to correct the initial positioning. This certainly appears drilled and coached and there are so many mistakes on show.

@kestrelpsych This is not a pattern play issue. This is poor play on many levels starting with the first pass, the poor profile, poor reception to near foot, the lack of scanning, and poor decisions. These women come from US club system so who is to blame? #TOVO

The coach of this team has done an admirable job teaching these young players proper open body profile, receiving to the back/far foot and a high quality first touch. Every individual reception on this clip is perfect which increases their collective speed of play. This kind of individual technical consistency and collective technical consistency is not an accident. Hats off to the coach! 🎩👍

After only 2 months of training, this Valencia CF Academy (Seattle) girls team shows how they put it all together: positional superiority, technical consistency, break every single defensive line and finish. This is the result of intentional training according to a proven world class methodology. @VCFSeattle @Academia_VCF #amuntValencia #ShowYourWork
