@ajjanavelnews I’m talking about your headline and “story” regarding our BLM mural being vandalized by Lawrence Pitre and SPD. The truth of the matter was not brought to light and instead we were made to look like ungrateful artists while the entire narrative of the mural was spun.

#CHOP - Seattle Police Officers, local residents, and artists clean the Black Lives Matter mural on E. Pine Street this morning as they prepare to place a sealant over the letters.

THATS CRAZY CAUSE NO ONE ASKED THE ACTUAL ARTIST.

@JTP7 @Omarisal We’re a collective of 18 artists and no one gave them permission from our team even though we have been planning with SDOT to repaint the mural for weeks

@JTP7 @Omarisal What do you mean?? Multiple artists dropped what they were doing and went up there to find out what was happening and Lawrence Petri the vigilanti clearcoater rudely refused to stop as well as had police rolling some letters.

@Omarisal They were forced to give consent due to the mural already being halfway done and the random citizen “artist” mansplaining right into the head organizers face. The artists were working with the city to repaint and seal and this dude just shoved his way into the project

2. for permission but got no response. Police called SDOT again, this time SDOT gave permission for sealant. Spokesperson for artists who painted mural arrived. Met with Citizen who was putting sealant. Spokesperson spoke with other mural artists and they gave consent 2 continue.
