I’ve heard a couple people express this same thing: improvement in quality of play doesn’t really impact things for them. I think what MLS is studying is how many people is that true for, and how many new people will watch—not just in stadium— if the product improves in a big way

If my choices are the 8th-best domestic league on a nice summer night or the 5th-best domestic league freezing in late Nov., I'm taking the first every time.

The whole league would play until essentially what is MLS Cup now, which also solves a problem of 40% of the league not playing games for four months a year, from end of October until end of February.
