Great summary … the entire architecture of @NASAArtemis is in upheaval and changing fast. Now both @blueorigin and @SpaceX must demonstrate their systems and approach can pick up the baton and execute missions at a high safety and tempo rate. Going to be an exciting next 24-36 months!

NASA may be handing SpaceX the keys to the Moon!!!
According to a Bloomberg article just posted today, instead of Boeing’s SLS rocket doing the heavy lifting, Starship could now dock with Orion in Earth orbit and take astronauts all the way to the lunar surface. Big win for SpaceX, bad news for Boeing, & a major shake-up for Artemis III. 🌕🚀

It’s dirty enough already, but then they use terms like “journalist”, “objective”, “unbiased”, “standards”, and “integrity”.

NEWS: NASA is planning a bigger @SpaceX Moon mission role using Starship, in a massive blow to Boeing. With the new proposal, Boeing's SLS would no longer be used to boost Orion close to the moon. Instead, Starship and Orion would dock in Earth orbit, giving Starship the pivotal role of propelling the capsule to the moon’s orbit, before taking astronauts down to the surface. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

There is a new addition to the US Space & Rocket Center Space Camp under construction and it is the Inspiration 4 Training Center!
Initial funding in 2022 of $10 Million by @rookisaacman Jared Isaacman to initiate construction & at the time, it was the largest single donation in the history of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center!
Expansion Funding of ~$15 Million in July 2025 was subsequently given by Jared and is designated for:
Mission Operations: Supporting advanced simulations for Space Camp, Robotics, and Cyber Camp
A new Dormitory: Providing seed money for a fourth dormitory to house students attending the programs.
Really great to see funding of facilities and programs like this to inspire a new generation of space explorers! @Ellieinspace

JUST IN: Today at INL's desert Site, @AaloAtomics unveiled its Critical Test Reactor facility – home to Aalo-X, a next-gen advanced #NuclearReactor – culminating years of @INL, Aalo & @ENERGY collaboration. ⚛️
Aalo plans to use Aalo-X to test & optimize future #nuclear tech.

Today, we unveiled our completed Critical Test Reactor facility.
This commercial-scale reactor with fuel to produce 10 MW of electricity was assembled on site from modular components to conclude a net ~70 day timeline from a desert plot to a reactor, reactor facility, and command & control center.
Nuclear fuel will arrive soon and, pending final DOE approval, we will go critical before the @POTUS July 4th deadline.

@JoeTegtmeyer I remember going there for Space Camp in the 90s and the shuttle was still up. What an amazing time! Took my kids a couple of years ago - still some fun stuff but I do miss how epic that place felt during the shuttle era.

As Artemis II gets ready to move from the VAB to LC-39B in Florida later today, I thought it would be great to stop by Huntsville Alabama and visit the US Space & Rocket Center plus Space Camp and relive some of our space history that has led us to the Artemis program and return to the moon!
Huntsville played a significant role in the establishment of the US Space program and today is a great day to visit!

Today, we unveiled our completed Critical Test Reactor facility. We will be turning this reactor on (a “zero power criticality”) well before July 4th! This is a commercial-scale system with enough fuel to produce 10 MW of electricity, and will someday soon power a co-located data center from one of our partners. Here’s what people saw today at our ribbon cutting: ✅ Reactor vessel ✅ Graphite as moderator ✅ Instrumentation and control ✅ Concrete shielding ✅ Building with crane ✅ Control room All designed and built by Aalo. And the nuclear fuel will be arriving any day now. One last step remains: the final DOE approval to turn the reactor on, which we expect to receive soon. DOE has been an incredible partner in this 2.5 year journey, working hard to support a number of companies pushing to advance US nuclear energy. Follow us to be the first to know when we turn this reactor on!
