@John_evans21 @TheExiledRobin @IanRatcliffe21 He’s not a long term appointment though is he? And we have nothing to play for? Hodgson doesn’t need to be in the dugout for us to use his network either. Lansdown being egotistical as usual, gets some stick off the fans so sacks another manager to deflect the blame.

@John_evans21 @TheExiledRobin @IanRatcliffe21 What does that make Struber out of interest? A tiddlywinks man? Weird decision making all round. Why bother with an interim manager? Just keep Struber until the end of the season and see if the SD likes him.

@TheExiledRobin @IanRatcliffe21 Yea to be fair this screams Boss and Scudamore wanting a "football man" to review the whole club, and help with the SD recruitment and Roy has huge knowledge of the game and will have contacts that may be very useful.

City Chief Executive Officer Charlie Boss said: “I would like to thank Gerhard and, Bernd for their hard work over the past nine months and we wish them all the best. “Roy’s appointment is about more than the results of the next seven games. Over the remainder of the season he will help us set the standards and values at the club that we we will need to be successful going forwards. “Roy is a vastly experienced coach who has achieved at the highest level and he will support me, our players and our football staff as we build towards being ready for the Premier League. “We are in the process of appointing a Sporting Director who will have a direct input into the recruitment of a new permanent Head Coach.”

We can announce that Gerhard Struber has been relieved of his duties as Bristol City Head Coach. Roy Hodgson will take charge of the Men’s First Team until the end of the season, while the club will task the incoming Sporting Director with appointing a permanent Head Coach for the 2026/27 campaign. The club’s recent performances have not met expectations and therefore Struber and Assistant Head Coach Bernd Eibler will leave with immediate effect.

Bristol City are stuck in their own Groundhog Day loop. Fans are finally getting angry. Why is promotion always someone else's dream? ⬇️ inews.co.uk/sport/football…

Seen a few comments about not liking “square pegs in round holes” Not sure what we are meant to do with just 1 centre back? 1 or 2 fullbacks are going have to play there regardless of what we do Struber has not been given the tools to do his job

@JamesEastw19268 @RobinNestBCFC We’re not going to be dragged into a relegation battle but what do you want him to do with a team with one fit centre back? We’re obviously going to keep conceding shit goals.

@joewj_ @RobinNestBCFC Which is an issue, yes. It doesn’t affect the rest of the team not even being able to pass to eachother, or running to tackle, or winning 2nd balls. It’s one problem in a much bigger one.

Sacking Struber doesn’t fix any of this in my opinion He’s not the messiah but he’s been hung out to dry by those he works for In fact if Struber goes before Tinnion it shows exactly where the accountability for all of this lies - Steve Lansdown #BristolCity

@RobinNestBCFC Rowett came in to Leicester and look what’s happened. Bloomfield went to Oxford and look what happened. These players need someone to give them a rocket, even short term. Sacking Struber is exactly what’s needed now, we’re sleepwalking to a relegation fight.

The problem is, if they sack Struber then those in charge will just move on and assume he was the whole problem. Wonder whether Lansdown’s “full review” was basically just getting a new CEO and that’s it, or if he was serious about it being a full review

@IanRatcliffe21 @TheExiledRobin “Steve, your managed decline of the football club is killing us and the continued mismanagement of player contracts means we’re moving backwards leading to results like this” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it unfortunately

I think “you’re not fit to wear the shirt” chants are a little bit harsh here. I think some people have got a bit carried away after watching the West Brom fans after Oxford at the weekend. Most sensible City fans know the primary source of the problem and it isn’t the players.
