'Re:Zero' Director Masaharu Watanabe says the Hardest Episode he worked on was EP 15: "I spent so much time on the direction of that episode, focusing on how to portray "madness." I've never spent so much time on the direction of an episode, from the layout and music to the subtle facial expressions." "I especially remember redoing the scene where Petelgeuse licks Subaru's eyeball many times, paying close attention to the subtle movements of his tongue and the angle of his saliva." WHITE Fox on How Long it takes to Produce a 'Re:Zero' Episode: "It takes about 3 to 6 months to complete one episode of an anime, and Re:Zero is basically the same. However, if an episode has a lot of action, the timeframe can be longer. EP 60 took 10 Months to Complete."

ICE JUST TOLD ME THAT THE ANIME VERSION OF THE CAVE SCENE IS EVEN BETTER THAN THE SOURCE MATERIAL. I HAVE NEVER SEEN HIM GLAZE AN EPISODE THIS MUCH. HE GAVE IT A 9.35/10, WHICH IS MASTERPIECE LEVEL BY HIS STANDARDS, HIGHER THAN ANYTHING IN S3. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS CINEMA.

Re: Zero Season 4, Episode 3 - Spoiler Warning I'm opting to try not give too many spoilers this season with my posts, unless there's specific popular demand to make it more detailed. But, man, I really can't contain myself with a little reaction for this episode so I will make a small exception. JUST. OH MY GOD. WHAT DID I JUST WATCH. LIKE SERIOUSLY. WHAT DID I JUST WATCH. PURE. UTTER. CINEMA. PURE. KINO. I really, really just can't believe it man. The hellcave adaptation was sublime. Utterly sublime. The crescendo that built to match the effects of the miasma, the sheer horror complemented by some exquisite sound direction, wow. And then, the Anastasia scene, just, WOW. I really think it's something best watched first time by everyone, but oh my god, it was just so, so good. The blue filter (that we've seen in official material) was a stroke of genius for the scene, and there's a little visual surprise that I absolutely adored too. The gore was absolutely on point. Just unbelievably good. Not just the gore, but the expressions, the boards, the direction, everything man. The rest of the episode was really, really damn good too, but the highlight was definitely the hellcave. With that out of the way, the episode is normal length. And it has both the opening and the ending, with visuals. It ends at Shaula arriving. Title: The Keeper of the Watch Tower Also, regarding the ending visuals, in my opinion (and understandably) they are far more conservative than the opening. They are rich in symbolism, though I'm admittedly a teensy bit disappointed with some of the boarding, especially a nearly ~30 second portion that is just a slow pan up a (cool) key-visual like image. Overall, they are fine, I think the opening set the bar high which is why I felt that way. There are some really cool easter eggs you can spot when you watch! Overall man, for me, this episode is EASILY the best of Season 3 and 4 so far.

Kill la Kill is peak fiction. Also, what happened to Sawano recently? His work here is art. The fall off is real

HOLY FUCKING SHIT MAN I 100% agree about the sound direction, it's fucking crazy, especially during the scene where Anastasia's upper half is hanging onto Subaru and all her guts are falling out and then in another scene where Patrasche is eating Ram's head and then eats Subaru's head, the sounds are so nauseatingly realistic + the visuals are so fucking grim, like REALLY fucking grim, they nailed the gore, facial expressions and the flow from one scene to the next so fucking well (can't believe they were allowed to show this much gore lol), the voice acting + boards/direction/animation as well during this part is really fucking good, so is the fight against the Centaur, the action boards are peak asf, great animation too INSANE fucking episode, i agree that it's definitely the best in Season 3 and 4 (so far)
