Housing like this is not safe and it would exacerbate mental health issues. This is not a solution. It’s inhumane and absurd. Just give people liveable homes.

Cities should be allowed to build housing for adults like this. We do it for hostels, and it can serve as "housing of last resort." Very cheap rent, by the bed. There'd have to be strictly enforced rules if paired with strangers, but it's not impossible.
