Enjoying re-engaging with the Irish language for some time now among my retirement pastimes. Came across this truism today in Gaeilge i mo Chroí.
Is minic a bhris béal duine a shrón
It’s often a person’s mouth broke his nose.

🔥🇺🇸WOW… KING CHARLES WAS CRACKING JOKES ABOUT THE WHITE HOUSE BEING SET BY THE BRITISH IN 1814 AT DINNER W/ PRESIDENT TRUMP LOL. When the British soldiers arrived dinner had STILL been set for FLOTUS Dolly Madison who had just fled. The British ate & drank and then set it on fire. You can still see the scorch marks at parts of the White House. The British also set the Senate, Library of Congress, SCOTUS, War & State Department on fire. Before leaving Dolly Madison like a BOSS took the copy of the Washington Landsdowne Portrait with her so it didn't set fire. The next day HURRICANE LEVELS WINDS AND RAIN struck D.C. and helped extinguish the fire… and force the British to leave. Almost live DIVINE PROVIDENCE.

service roll for Kilbroney parish. In another instance I understand that someone whose name is on a war memorial as killed turned up alive and well but his name was never removed!

During research today found two men not on a local war memorial in Midlothian. Found them through pension records, claims from women re kids born out of wedlock. I wonder if that's why they were omitted in 1920s Presbyterian Scotland or something else?

I’ve given Trump the benefit of the doubt on many occasions, but no longer. His attack on Iran was ill- advised. His foul-mouthed rant on Easter Sunday was inexcusable. His threat to wipe out an entire civilization was insane. And his portrayal of himself as Jesus is blasphemous.

@SiobhanMc80 @EamonnMallie I just had primary school Irish. And I did some classes at CLONAOD monastery. It's never too late. The language is so rich with colour and connection with nature. So ancient and showing respect for all the elements of life.

I loved languages at school & excelled at French & Spanish.
I wish I’d have been taught Irish from a young age. I didn’t have the choice was placed in French & Spanish despite requesting Irish.The greatest decision as a parent was sending my kids to Bunscoil.Tá mé ag foghlaim🙏
