1/3 WiFL members should already have received an email with suggested resources when preparing for a family law pupillage interview, but we are also going to set them out here for non-members.🧵 @suesspiciousmin - a helpful blog with regular case analysis and family law updates

The recording from our pupillage workshop is now up on Youtube for a limited period of time (until 8th March). youtube.com/watch?v=OLIjZU…

If you are British, what do you feel when you see such imagery? For me, I cringe with embarrassment. Anachronistic clap trap, the lot of it that serves only to perpetuate our class ridden society. When will we grow up and move on? #NotMyKing #AbolishTheMonarchy

@nearlylegal Well, they can always nip out to Foyles while you're speaking, as I may have been known to do during certain lectures. 😉

@AdamWagner1 @metpoliceuk Another disturbing aspect of the police behaviour that isn't getting much attention is that it was reported that the police erected barriers to obscure Republic's banners. Obviously, such action is not the function of the police.

My thoughts on the @metpoliceuk "regret" x.com/adamwagner1/st… I do think that the public statement is important but it should be seen as the beginning of a reckoning with the Met's general approach to disruptive protest and its responsibility to facilitate protest, not the end.
Adam Wagner KC@AdamWagner1

The @metpoliceuk now say they “regret” arresting some of the protesters. Note that they found equipment they thought could be used for “locking on”, a new criminal offence, which it turns out was for securing signs 1/2 news.met.police.uk/news/update-ar…

@Otto_English And that assumes that patriotism is a "good thing" per se. Seems to me that it is responsible for much division in the world.

It's not unpatriotic to disagree with the concept of monarchy. It is however very, very fucking stupid to think that it is. #thoughtfortheday

@ObiterJ @pjm1kbw @AdamWagner1 @mcdermottkc_ 'Nipped in the bud'? There had been no trouble - Republic hadn't even set up! They had liaised with the police beforehand. Police knew what they intended, and had not indicated any objection. Hopefully, false imprisonment damages will be sufficiently high to make police rethink.

@johnbolch @pjm1kbw @mcdermottkc_ Not explicitly but if the police reasonably believe an offence is about to occur they can arrest, and potential protest related offences have been hugely increased. I don’t know the background to this so difficult to comment
