The Governor is right. We need a massive overhaul of our zoning and planning laws to allow for more density and public transit. As mayor we upzoned and created unlimited heights in our Downtown. Now cities need to look towards converting office space into housing of all types.

The term”Fox News” is an oxymoron. A Fox journalist it’s just a moron.

@RobertGarcia We need to understand why the cost of higher education has exploded. The cost of getting a good education should never be outside the reach of any American.

The Supreme Court is going to hear the Biden student loan foregiveness program this week. They need to understand how important this is for people who need relief. As an educator, I saw my students constantly struggle and take loans out to survive. Hope they do the right thing.

@RobertGarcia If a Drag Show can somehow “corrupt” the morals of a “God-fearing” family, one must question how much the kids are paying attention to their parents when they are together?

drag is an art form, not a crime. The full on assault from the extreme right is dangerous and needs to be called out by our LGBTQ+ community and our allies.

@johnpgarrett I do too. The Long Beach Post is a for profit digital newsroom, up from 3.5FTEs/$300k annual rev in 2018 to 27 FTEs/$2.5M in four years. No such thing as THE roadmap in local news. Nonprofit is A roadmap, but the journey has many on-ramps to success, including for profit.

I believe in the future of for profit local news. (No one else is saying this in our industry. Nonprofit journalism is 😎) But if you care about the free market and you care about the free press - ask - who is behind the funding of nonprofit journalism?!
