DeRosa obviously messed this up in a huge way but was there not a single other member of USA baseball who could have told him. Did the entire organization think they had clinched? The man did a media hit beforehand saying they had clinched and not a single person corrected him?

I just can’t get over this… Not only did Team USA hire an MLB Network studio analyst as their manager, but the same guy had absolutely no idea how the tournament works & didn’t take the game seriously & sat starters… A colossal failure by all involved

@robpizzola Would imagine any possible edge in major markets left has to do with the physics of the ball and being early to ID/quantify it. Has to be the only sport where the playing object changes so frequently, sometimes in-season seemingly

A decade ago I was betting MLB overnights for 2k a pop off a Monte Carlo sim built on free Steamer projections and finishing seasons up 50+ units. That same model today would get absolutely cooked. The market evolution in baseball betting has been insane. Where is the edge now?
