Belatedly, thanks very much to everyone who organised and attended this event and for all the kind words. I’ve been so lucky to know you all. Literally a new chapter for me as I’m writing a book on the positioning of academic libraries with @facetpublishing, due in (later!) 2025!

On Tuesday, we celebrated the retirement of John Cox, University Library after 24 years of dedicated service. The event was attended by the University President, Deputy President & Registrar, and colleagues from across the University. We wish John a happy and healthy retirement.

Sharing the 1st part of a SWOT analysis of academic libraries. The abstract and tables will cut to the chase if you are in a hurry! Massive thanks to @leoappleton for his support as editor of @NewRevAcadLib and also to a phenomenally helpful peer reviewer doi.org/10.1080/136145…

Tuesday 8 August marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of our lovely Archives and Special Collections Reading Room @UniOfGalwayLib. Paying tribute here to our late lamented colleague, Ann Mitchell, who worked so hard to get it completed. We'll be sharing highlights all day!
