Just passed 40 uninterrupted years as a full time TV reporter starting with CBC News and then Global. (Worked in radio and papers before that, too.) Got the full time job during the ☘️ shamrock summit with Mulroney and Reagan. Free trade deal came next. Grateful for my good fortune. Thanks!

Iona Campagnolo was an arresting, impressive figure. Tall, wise and always immaculately composed. She was like polished silver. I remember an event in Mtrl in 1990 - crowded, hot and cramped. Not for Iona. The room just moved around her. We were in her orbit. Always. RIP

Ottawa should change the name of Charlotte St. to Alexei Navalny Dr. to honour the recently murdered Russian democracy activist. The street is home to the Russian embassy. Wonder if there’s a city councillor or perhaps a mayor willing to take up the cause. @_MarkSutcliffe

The reality is that we never have enough beds for patient volumes. Our ALC rate is close to 30-40%.
Blame inadequate government funding of a great little hospital, lousy access to quality Long Term Care and phantom Home Care programs.
