@sawdustorture It’s also a far different landscape with more means of branding, social media, multimedia. Goose has a very good team behind them that knows how to capitalize on a marketing opportunity (ie Covid streams). There’s also intangibles.. their personalities, etc

@sawdustorture While agree about those bands being more skilled and interesting (I’ve seen moe., Umph live dozens of times), a Goose show has more *sustained* energy and danceable grooves than both. I’m a fan of prog and would have more fun personally at an Umph/moe. show, but I get the hype

@ry_storm Great meeting you and seeing the joy you bring to people’s lives, Ryan! To show you just how far-reaching, my neighbor in my apartment building stopped me today and said he heard my name mentioned on your pod. Keep it up, man

@joshmishell @skiingrogge @ry_storm Thanks, yeah. It’s brought me to some rad places! I was born and raised 20 mins north of Saratoga Springs and haven’t lived anywhere else for any length of time. Annual trips to Tahoe are the new norm though

President Theodore Roosevelt and conservationist John Muir on Glacier Point, Yosemite Valley, California, 1903. This photo was taken on a camping trip that John Muir took the President on, to try and convince him to push for laws to preserve the wilderness and the natural world. Roosevelt returned from that camping trip feeling refreshed and enthusiastic about conserving the wilderness areas of America. Over the following years, he created national monuments, parks, and wildlife sanctuaries, saving approximately 230 million acres of public land for all Americans for all time.

Feel like I’ve been chasing my puppy around so much I haven’t been out on the bike much. Felt good to get out there today, and the rain made for perfect dirt! #mtb

@JazzIsPhish It’s kind of apples to oranges when I think of a jam concert. But Bruce Springsteen wasn’t a jam band. He spoke true words and told great stories that resonated with America, and that’s why we’ll be hearing about Zach Bryan for a long time.

@JazzIsPhish Love the respect from Trey. I’ve been to countless shows .. [only 😏] a dozen Phish shows. Same for Allmans, Umphreys, Mule, and every post-Jerry incarnation of the Dead. Like it or not, I’ve never witnessed anything like Zach Bryan Saturday night at Forest Hills.

@JazzIsPhish Be as it may, he had absolute command of the audience. Not only was his band amazingly talented, but he also brought two great openers along for the ride. Pretty neat when Danny Dimes came on stage to help with “Revival”. Energy was off the hook
