Congratulations to @awxjack and the whole @airwallex team on another incredible milestone – raising their Series G at US$8B valuation led Addition.
Jack's post below shares a glimpse into what has been a truly incredible journey to date, full of ups and downs (and a lot of "up and to the right"). Don't think of LLMs as entities but as simulators. For example, when exploring a topic, don't ask:
"What do you think about xyz"?
There is no "you". Next time try:
"What would be a good group of people to explore xyz? What would they say?"
The LLM can channel/simulate many perspectives but it hasn't "thought about" xyz for a while and over time and formed its own opinions in the way we're used to. If you force it via the use of "you", it will give you something by adopting a personality embedding vector implied by the statistics of its finetuning data and then simulate that. It's fine to do, but there is a lot less mystique to it than I find people naively attribute to "asking an AI".

After 27 mins of interviewing @awxjack on 20VC, I asked in the middle of the show if I could invest in @airwallex.
I invested $7M.
Today, Jack announced Lee Fixel and Addition, one of the best in the world, have led a new round at $8BN.
20VC’s $7M is now $10.2M just 6 months later.
Jack is one of the best I work with and Airwallex will be a $100BN company.

It’s profitable now, but it isn’t growing anymore. Revenue growth has slowed to 4% and new customer count is net 0.
The markets reward growth. Efficient growth or insane growth. But growth.

@maxmarchione Very reliable jet lag routine for me (eg in London right now):
* lots of caffeine in morning, cut by 3pm
* melatonin to sleep and again if waking during the night
* lift heavy in the morning, compound full body movements heavy and to failure
Final one I find is key to sleep.
