@Mike_Jagacki hmm good post… as a casual hooper, i gotta get more comfortable with using my chest to absorb contact, i often just use my arm in front of me to absorb contact (sometimes i need to be careful not to extend it and foul)

One of the keys to defensive movement is force absorption and force generation. Where is the defender generating these forces? Watch Herb Jones here and you see how his heels almost hover off the ground the entire time. Even when he's moving backwards, all his force is generated and absorbed on the balls of his feet.
