It was great to see thousands of book lovers show up at the Detroit Festival of Books! Over 160 booksellers, authors, artists & vendors shared Detroit’s historic Eastern Market on a beautiful day. If you spent part of your day with us, thank you and we look forward to next year!

After 38 years of faithful service a familiar face retired on Saturday. Our very own Darlene, longtime third floor manager and magazine magician is moving on to bigger and better things! We will miss her and wish her all the best in retirement.

So, still no electricity in our store. DTE says the power will be back on by 10 tonight. Here’s a photo of our darkness (not in our hearts, but in our stairway)

Our downtown Detroit neighborhood has been without electricity since Monday evening. There has been no sign of @DTE_Energy @TroubleDTE trying to fix the problem. You would think the City, which collects a utility tax from all of us, would advocate for our survival.

Thaks to all who turned out to last Sunday’s @DetroitBookfest . We had a great time seeing old faces and new. Keep reading!
