Is this a show worth watching? I have no idea…

Why do I feel shame for this @officestudents report about @LeedsTrinity ? I guess because, like so many colleagues and governors), I knew that what was happening was wrong, who were the drivers, yet didn’t speak out forcefully enough to prevent it.

@apf102 A good read. For me the key issue is that learning across all subject domains is treated as the same. This doesn’t stand up to either common sense or academic scrutiny.
English

@DeborahMeaden Yes I’ve been wondering what the US public are making of it. We only seem to be hearing about the public response in Ukraine, Russia, Paris, Berlin…
English

It is a rare event for me to repost something from a religious leader but the Pope is spot on. It’s a shame that figures in our government can’t take a similarly principled stance.
Paul Joseph@pjfahey
-Francis throws down the gauntlet- The pope just published a letter to the US Bishops about President Trump’s polices, and Vice President Vance’s rhetoric, about immigration. It’s direct and clear. And feels a little unprecedented to me. 1/5

Where exactly are you suggesting they should go? And two, are you saying they should return after it's rebuilt, and if not, who do you envision living there?
President Trump: “I envision…the world’s people. I think you’ll make that into an international, unbelievable place. I think the potential in the Gaza Strip is unbelievable…I don’t want to be a wise guy, but the Riviera of the Middle East..."

@lgreen @johnstonglenn I’ve tried Ulysses a few times and failed. I can manage bits of it (eg Molly Bloom’s soliloquy) but overall it is just too much for me.
Do you remember when, just after my brain surgery, I called you ‘Leopold Bloom’?! That must have been around the time of one of my attempts.
English

@johnstonglenn well at least he had a room with a view that made for some ‘nice’ coffee table films

@realmomma47 @KirstieMAllsopp I don’t do it. This sort of stuff has always creeped me out tbh
English

@KirstieMAllsopp Trust you to jump on the bandwagon it’s called banter we all do it

@SCottinghatt @MrZachG Dialogic and interactive = open questions to establish understanding and reinforce and share meaning, dialogic and non interactive = teacher summary drawing on multiple perspectives voiced in dialogic/interactive phase.
No single approach is ‘better’ or ‘worse’!
English

@SCottinghatt @MrZachG They illustrate, using (science) classroom transcripts, how EACH of 4 communicative approaches can contribute to meaning making. Authoritative and non-interactive =lecture, authoritative and interactive = q and a with teacher steering,

Nice work from @MrZachG dispelling myths and working to explicitly help us make our explanations better!

@Dr_Pam_Jarvis A slight nuance - social construction (eg from more experienced others) is also important. The key thing in teaching is ‘do not assume that what is said is what is heard’. Years of research evidence supports this.
English

If you’re interested in #MathsEd or #EvidenceBasedPractice this is a must-read. It is also extremely well-written, accessible to all irrespective of maths ed knowledge. #MathematicsEducation
English

@ProcessEdu A cheery thought - I don’t think you’re wrong though

@lgreen @paul_bower @LevyCllrs @Dzidra78 @zahid4Labour @basat_m @McrLabour I now use a mobility scooter and this stuff is a nightmare. People parked blocking drop curbs is bad enough but this takes the biscuit
English

@paul_bower @LevyCllrs @Dzidra78 @zahid4Labour @basat_m they are completely complacent - MCR @McrLabour completely take Levenshulme voters for granted… shocking from the party that should be for the people
English

Would like to know what @LevyCllrs @Dzidra78 @zahid4Labour @basat_m are actually doing to address pavement parking. We don’t need a change in national legislation to begin to tackle this blight - it requires active Cllrs who give a damn and political will to challenge offenders
Nicholas Mason@enmason
Hi, the pavement on Stockport Road by belvoir av is completely blocked. Could we get some enforcement or bollards to stop parking and have the skip removed? @gmpolice @ManCityCouncil @WalkRideGM @MCC_Levenshulme
