Just got home from watching Project Hail Mary… having just finished another listen of the audiobook prior to going here’s a few of my thoughts, with no spoilers. 1. For fans of the book, it’s gonna feel rushed. Even with a nearly 3 hour runtime. 2. The tone is noticeably different. It’s a feel good buddy adventure movie, whereas the book was about two individuals trying to solve an existential threat to their races. 3. The visuals were awesome, and sound was good. Definitely see it in imax if you have the chance. 4. Overall, it’s a great movie in and of itself. It is also a faithful adaptation of the story albeit “dumbed down” for the big screen. If I had to try and explain it: Grace is much more middle school science teacher than former molecular biologist in the movie, if that makes sense. Anyways, it’s a must see and definitely would recommend to anyone that has or hasn’t read the book.

This review is criticizing the scrubs revival for staying true to the original.. which has been the number one ask by fans of any show doing a reboot. Yes, we want more of exactly the same thing.
