@BaseballDudes48 Those coaches care about themselves, not the kids.

One of my biggest struggles with the youth sports culture is the lack of adults who understand “potential” and what “the process” really means. Most are looking for the next best athlete (early bloomer) to add to their roster while pushing away and denying those who in their eyes “aren’t ready” yet, aka, haven’t hit the same development milestones as their early bloomed peers. On the flip side, there is never a better story than those late bloomers who stuck with it, kept working hard and worked through the confidence issues brought on by the atmosphere. The life skills learned and engrained will absolutely help them in life. Puberty is a game changer. It can completely change them, their strength, coordination and confidence. Coaches, we are here to teach them and help them prepare. The goal is to help them lay a solid foundation so when their body starts changing, they are ready to take full advantage of it.

@martymush Juan Soto is a better 'hitter'. Mike Trout was. There are others. And I am a Judge fan. But he has a bit to go before being the greatest in a lifetime.

@bballhist @DMEASrecruiting He was, in the sense that he was the best at what he did. There was a time when pure hitters were respected in the game. Now it is all OPS, which focuses too much on slugging.

As if one game tonight is going to make any difference as to who the Yankees are targeting at the deadline? I’m sure the Yankees have scouts all over the place but I don’t think anything that happens tonight in front of this particular scout is going to change what the Yankees were already going to do.
