SLU will have $10 million to pay its players next year. If Dayton isn’t at least at 7-8 million what are we even doing? They were at 3-4 mil this year.
Matt Norlander@MattNorlander
Was never taking NC State. Also turned down Cuse in the midst of the NCAAT. Am told SLU has at least $10 million to use this year in rev share + NIL expenditures. Basically running a high-major operation in the A-10. Will be interesting to see Schertz with real money to spend.
English

@CB__chris5 If Dayton wants to act like a Big East team they better get in the $8-$10 million category.

@TheGolfDivoTee Clifford Roberts was the Trumper of his time frame.

Dr Alister MacKenzie's Augusta National design in 1933.
MacKenzie died at the age of 63 on January 6, 1934, a destitute man with the club having failed to pay his full design fee of $10,000.
At the time of his death he had received only $2,000 of what he was owed by Bobby Jones and Augusta National.

@thekidfromLowes I don't care what tournament your in. An athlete should always try to win.
English

@TheGhostofhogan Why didn't a Super Seniors (60+) Tour ever get started ?
English

I think champions Tour should lower age to 45.
For the most part, not every player, once you hit 55 the game goes downhill. Again not all plyrs but in general.
So get them out there at age 45.
They have no chance on regular tour (again there are examples of 45+ yr olds winning on regular Tour BUT in general they flop around from 45-49 and can’t compete) so let them go play Champs Tour at age 45.
What’s the drawback?

@JBedellWHIO @MichaelCal10323 One thing that has been going on with the NCAA Committee for the last ten years is pairing up two very good mid-majors in the first round. You can look at it from a certain angle and develop a suspicion that it was done to keep only one from advancing.
English

@MichaelCal10323 @johnnieMuuch And yes, advancing in the NCAA Tournament is hard. Always has been. You need to play at a high level and have a little bit of luck too. But Dayton can't at least try to advance in the dance if they don't make it there in the first place more often than not.
English

This week, for the first time in 16 years, and for the first time since the First Four’s inception, the Dayton Flyers will play an NIT home game. Congratulations, @johnnieMuuch, you finally got your white whale.
English

@nA10nal_champs @JBedellWHIO Neither was SMU. Texas wasn't either, but they showed they belonged.
English

@johnnieMuuch @JBedellWHIO Neither of those were at large caliber
English

@nA10nal_champs @JBedellWHIO They beat Virginia Tech and South Florida. 15-3 in the league is good.
English

@johnnieMuuch @JBedellWHIO VCU played a weaker non conference then Dayton and didn’t exactly get any big wins. Lost to SLU at home even.
English

@tribebrowns @JBedellWHIO Well St Joe's just beat Cal 76-75 in the NIT. Maybe the Great Tournament Committee and their metric system undervalued the A10 this year. You can't tell me Dayton or St Joe's would have lost to SMU.
English

@JBedellWHIO @johnnieMuuch If they’d stop forgetting how to play basketball for 10 days every year they’d be fine. Lose to half as many 200+ teams and they make the tourney is 22, 23 and as you said this year. It’s not THAT hard, win games
English

@thekidfromLowes @JBedellWHIO Marquette sucked. No way a 12-20 team should be a Quad 2 game. Just shows you how the NET is a farce of a metric system
English

@johnnieMuuch @JBedellWHIO One whole quad 2 win?!?!?! Omg. Burn down the ghetto.
English

@JBedellWHIO Nobody knows how the initial ranking spot in the NET at the beginning of the season works ? That is one of the many issues Dayton faces.
English

@johnnieMuuch Here’s the thing, John. It’s not hard for Dayton to make the NCAA. They’ve had no trouble for years now building an at-large worthy schedule. UD’s problem has been execution. Like losing 3 buy games in 2021-22. And this year: they beat Liberty, La Salle, Rhody? They’d have danced
English

@JBedellWHIO I hope to be. I hope the game is on Wednesday, because Tuesday I work at Miami Shores Golf. Course. Well, if the game is on Tuesday, I will switch with someone to be able to go to the game.
English

@johnnieMuuch I’m just having some fun with you, John. 😉 Will you be at the game this week? It’s been years since we caught up in person there.
English

@tonidevelin @DaytonPrezSpina @DaytonMBB The Administration doesn't care. They have been on autopilot since 2011.
English

@DaytonPrezSpina if @DaytonMBB are expected to play away during crucial first rounds of #NIT then why can’t the university show some support by sending students, band, cheerleaders to the other venue? You’re making it a lot harder for them to eventually get a home game.
English

@courtneydeutsch I will still be cheering for the Flyers tonight. I will root for them to win the NIT. Go Flyers !
English

@johnnieMuuch Just make the NCAA and this isn’t a problem. Which I’m quite certain, is the goal.
English

A $121 Million local economic impact. 😳 THIS is why the #FirstFour needs to stay in #Dayton. #MarchMadness @DaytonHoopla
Dayton Business Journal@DBJnews
The 2025 event drew 25,107 fans and surpassed the previous economic impact record set in 2023. Dayton will host through at least 2028. #Dayton #sports #FirstFour #MarchMadness bizjournals.com/dayton/news/20…
