The counterpoint would be the human element of a team’s mindset/mentality only being down one score instead of two.
Right or wrong, there is some unquantifiable aspect to the belief & confidence of knowing you’re only down one score.

@MashPancake Fftcg does something similar where the winner chooses a card that is released as an organized play promo the next year, though it is a modified version of the normal art not an alternate alt

You know I've always wondered. What's stopping TCGs from having the World Championship Winner's prize card being a card design that the winner wants?
League's a different type of game, but it's really cool to see the winners get a skin of a champion that they used and liked.

I've been an advocate for these cards for a long time, so I made a 100% factual and correct tierlist on which decks will play them.
If you disagree on my takes feel free to discuss in the comments but I do think most people are undervaluing their effects.

is2g if I have to listen to another person downplay how good these cards are and say that they won't be played in most decks, I will krill myself. Unless you cannot afford them or you are playing very specific decks, you should be playing them. They are just that strong.
