Six Years ago today was the fork in the road of my life: I left my job as a construction equipment teacher making close to six figures and stepped away as the High School Head Football Coach at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, WI. I wasn’t happy, I wanted to do more meaningful things with my life. I sold my house and almost everything in it. I was given the opportunity by @MinnStFootball to be a GA and the assistant OL Coach from Coach Hoffner. I made peanuts and popcorn those first two years, lived off the profit of selling everything I had. Now I’m the Offensive Line Coach at my Alma Mater. I get to sit in the desk I once sat on the other side of. I’m living my dream everyday. Why does all this matter? Why is Coach Henning talking about himself? Hopefully someone out there sees this and bets on themself, no matter how crazy it sounds. Because unless you’re willing to gamble on yourself and chase your dreams you’ll never get to be truly happy in life. Don’t just clock in and clock out, living for the weekend is a horrible way to live. Go against the grain, don’t listen to the haters and make sacrifices to do what makes you happy. Happiness makes you happy, not money. Appreciate all of you, here’s to an even better 6 years ahead! ❤️
