Stop testing new ad creative after 2 days. "It's not working." Algorithms need time to learn. Give it at least a week before you panic and change everything. Constant changes reset the learning phase.

Your reps are demoing people who make 5k a month. You're selling a 10k package. That's not a sales problem. That's a qualification problem that should've been caught before the demo was ever booked.

Stop asking prospects "what's holding you back?" That's lazy. You should already know from discovery. If you don't know what their concerns are by the end of the call, your discovery was garbage.

I see founders celebrate being busy like it's a badge of honor. "I'm on calls 12 hours a day." That's not impressive. That's inefficient. Build systems so you can win in 6 hours, not grind for 12.

Your email sequence is 8 emails with zero personality. All formatted the same. All saying basically nothing. Nobody's reading past email 1. Write like a human or accept that you're invisible.

Your landing page asks 12 questions before someone can book. Company name, revenue, team size, biggest challenge, timeline, budget, decision makers, current tools. Every question kills conversion. Name, email, phone and a couple qualifying questions.  If your ad and landing page is so direct it will automatically filter out the bullshitters.

I trained a team that was obsessed with close rate. Hit 50% close rate. But all the clients were on payment plans and half chargebacked. Optimizing for the wrong metric will kill you. Focus on revenue, not percentages.

I see setters book calls then never tell the closer what was discussed. Closer starts from scratch. Prospect repeats themselves and loses interest. Make a group chat. Setter introduces closer. Closer sends personalized video. Small fix. Massive impact.

Stop ending sales calls with "I'll send you some information." You just told them you're not confident enough to close. "Based on what you told me, here's what happens next. I'm sending the proposal tonight and we'll review it Wednesday at 2pm." Guide them or lose them.

Your pipeline says you're closing 80k this month. You close 30k. Your reps don't know what "likely to close" means. Define your stages clearly or accept that your forecast is a guess based on hope.

Your ad says "limited spots available." You've been running that ad for 6 months. Nobody believes fake scarcity. Real urgency comes from making the cost of waiting clear, not lying about availability.

I worked with a founder taking 15 calls a day while running fulfillment and managing the team. He refused to hire because "nobody understands the product like me." 3 months later he's burnt out and revenue is stuck at 40k a month. Your ego is the ceiling.

The amount of people that tried to pitch me "equity" in their business and they have zero revenue is hilarious. I wish I was that delusional

If you want to actually get good at cold outreach, whether it's email, dms or cold calling, it's simply to cut the bullshit and act like a regular person. Instagram and social media gives you all these bullshit AI tricks but no trick is going to work as good as simply just asking the prospect about their business, being upfront about what you do and how you can help them, and most importantly just being neutral about the outcome

Spent an hour on a call last week with a founder who couldn't figure out why his ads weren't converting. Clicked through to his landing page. The headline described features, not results. Nobody buys features, they buy the result.  I rewrote the headline in 10 minutes. Since then landing page has converted almost 2x the previous.

An outreach message with misspelled words will always outperform the obvious Chatgpt message with 5 em dashes and 5 "It's not this, its that."

Most people think copywriting is about being clever. t's about being clear. The best performing ad I ever ran for a client was two sentences. No fancy headline, no storytelling, no hooks we spent hours on. Just a dead simple description of the problem they had and what we did about it. Outperformed everything else they'd tested for 6 months straight.

Course selling should be a regulated industry. The biz opping of everything from Growth Operating, marketing agencies, sales, and sales agencies have completely ruined the market.  You have 18 year old broccoli haired kids with no sales or marketing experience who are trying to take 30% revshare from companies to "scale" them because they bought a course from a 20 year old brocoli haired kid in Miami.
