TIL that “flogging” in the sense of “selling/promoting” is not commonly known in the US (or at least, there’s a substantial number of educated people who don’t know it). I’m constantly surprised when I find such terms, that I know (as a Canadian?) but are unfamiliar in the US.

Let me add my voice to the futile complaints about Google now requiring a phone-based 2-step verification for account sign-ins. As someone who uses multiple Google accounts that are shared between more than one person, who frequently aren't in the same city, this is a big pain.
