A Palestinian student graduated at the top of his class at a Dublin university after creating an AI-powered sustainability app. Technology student Elias Amro, 25, who is from Bethlehem, came to Ireland in September 2024 to study at DCU jrnl.ie/7004688

We were low on meals — just under 300 — but we still had five 6-foot tables (34 feet of food). Despite the numbers, we had a wide variety of healthy options: sandwiches, fruit, yoghurts, cheese, brown bread, and fresh vegetables. The queue was more agitated than usual. There was pushing, frustration, and complaints — particularly around people skipping ahead. It’s something we try to manage every week, but it can be difficult, especially for our volunteers. Every week, our volunteers come straight from their jobs to make this soup run happen. They give their time and energy to support others, and they always do their best — even on nights like this. We’re very grateful to be able to offer some relief, some hope, and a small light at the end of the tunnel. The level of need we saw tonight is a clear reminder: soup runs matter. People need this support. As we head into our 11th year, we simply couldn’t keep going without your continued support. Thank you — and we hope everyone has a lovely weekend 🤍 To donate, please visit: msoe.ie/donate/
