My 3 year old twin boys had to miss a really vital hospital appointment in Cork today because of the fuel protests. Rang the hospital to be told they will be put back on the waiting list. Who knows how long til we get an appointment again. It's a disgrace! #fuelprotest

We were low on meals — just under 300 — but we still had five 6-foot tables (34 feet of food). Despite the numbers, we had a wide variety of healthy options: sandwiches, fruit, yoghurts, cheese, brown bread, and fresh vegetables. The queue was more agitated than usual. There was pushing, frustration, and complaints — particularly around people skipping ahead. It’s something we try to manage every week, but it can be difficult, especially for our volunteers. Every week, our volunteers come straight from their jobs to make this soup run happen. They give their time and energy to support others, and they always do their best — even on nights like this. We’re very grateful to be able to offer some relief, some hope, and a small light at the end of the tunnel. The level of need we saw tonight is a clear reminder: soup runs matter. People need this support. As we head into our 11th year, we simply couldn’t keep going without your continued support. Nice of our volunteers to walk into this today, absolutely no class at all! Boot cleaning stations outside nah rather wash em in the showers, folk work so hard for no financial gain to come to this. Always say don’t mind mud and don’t brush as it drags but the rest..embarrassing
