I think you’ll find he was wearing HER spectacles, Luigi. And that explains why she snatched them off him! He was out of order to take them without her permission, yes, but oof, surely she could have waited til they were back in the dressing room? Shoddy!
Luigi Vercotti@SRoadk2

@johnshuttlewrth Why was she wearing his spectacles in the first place, that's what I want to know.

Having said that, my favourite entry so far is Albania – that lad who had a funny chainmail tunic. The key moment was when his mother came and took off his spectacles. Fantastic gesture!

A few people are asking where I am this Eurovision? Well, Mary says she finds my constant typing off-putting, and to be honest, I want to just watch this year and consider each song, and then make my final verdict. Is that okay, followers ?

Delighted to announce that in the Autumn there will be a 20th Anniversary screening tour of ‘It’s Nice Up North’ which was filmed by my friend, the late Martin Parr. Dates TBA shortly, but in the meantime here’s the new trailer! youtu.be/G372PDOJeU8?si…

If you’re in the Faversham area tomorrow evening, I’ll be chatting about my John Shuttleworth ‘Takes the Biscuit’ book @FavershamLit . And I promise I’ll try to avoid that silly ‘thinking’ pose, as seen below!

@gdfellows @FavershamLit John's childhood memories of Fry's Turkish Delight and Old Jamaica chocolate in the book are brilliant!

Joan Chitty’s just been round to wish us HNY and she took the last Roses in the tub which I’ve since found out was a ‘Signature Truffle’. I’m gutted as all that’s left now is a ‘Tangy Orange Crème’ which - despite being dented - is way too exotic for early Jan, wouldn’t you say?

Happy Christmas, followers! No new radio broadcasts this Yuletide, sadly, as we were out of cotton buds to clean the tape heads (and I refuse to take Ken’s advice to use a soapy rag!). However, ‘The Shuttleworths’ is on Radio 4 Extra four times on Xmas Eve.. oof, check it out!

Have a merry crisp mess everyone. Here is a seasonal postcard I picked up at the great @gdfellows anniversary bash for John Shuttleworth recently. Please enjoy his delightful ditty about some of the confectionary we used to find in our stockings. youtube.com/watch?v=UPH1Sl…

I’m in Lyme Regis and, sadly, it’s the final date of my ‘Raise the Oof’ tour. Meanwhile, wily old Ken is putting any leftover merchandise into his online shop. Check out the fab bargains NOW including ‘Ken’s Khristmas Kracker’! shuttleworths.co.uk/pages/shop.html

Oof, I’d better be careful. See what can happen to your hair when you play Barnsley!

My ‘Raise the Oof’ tour resumes in Barnsley (9th). A few tickets left at Worcester (19th), Isle of Wight (21st) and the final show in Lyme Regis (22nd) where Ken informs me the ‘Cob’ may be found. Aren’t regional differences funny? I’d call it a roll, although Mary favours ‘bap’.
