It’s remarkable to watch people vote for their own decline. I’ve seen this phenomenon play out three times now. I was born and raised in New York City during the Abe Beame, Ed Koch, and David Dinkins years. Those administrations often seemed locked in a competition over who could do the most damage to the city’s economy and public safety. The city was struggling. Then lightning struck: Rudy Giuliani won the mayor’s race and, in just a few years, helped turn New York around. The city felt alive again. Businesses returned, crime dropped, and there was an energy and optimism that had been missing for years. I left shortly afterward because of a work-related move, but I watched from afar as New York went from Bloomberg to de Blasio to Adams, and now Mamdani. Sadly, I fear the city is headed in the wrong direction again. I saw a version of the same story in Maryland. Despite being a deep-blue state, voters elected a Republican governor who improved the state’s trajectory and won reelection comfortably. Rather than build on that success, voters turned back to progressive policies under Wes Moore, and many of the same problems are reemerging. I’ve never understood why people choose policies that create trouble when they’ve already living with the receipts. Now I live in Florida, where the Scott and DeSantis administrations have transformed the state into an economic oasis. Every day, I hope Florida stays on its current course and avoids the mistakes that sent places like NY City and Maryland backward.

I don’t understand who is going to invest in a $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran. The U.S. is not doing so, and why would the Qataris or any other country in the Middle East that was just attacked by Iran invest one penny to support Iran’s reconstruction? Most of the damage inflicted on Iran was directed to military targets. Why would anyone want to help Iran rebuild its military capabilities? Even if the funds were limited to humanitarian-related infrastructure, if there is such a thing, money is fungible, and we know the first freed up dollar will go to rebuild Iran’s ballistic and nuclear capabilities. What am I missing?

🚨🧵 BREAKING - The "conservative" protest against AI data centers has an anti-ICE NGO organizer, a DSA member, Facebook money. Other than that, totally grassroots. Axios ran an "exclusive" Wednesday about a "conservative group" called Humans First planning a nationwide day of protest against AI data centers on July 18. Amy Kremer is chairing it and invoking the Tea Party. Axios didn't mention that Humans First was incubated by the Center for AI Safety, an organization funded with millions from Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz. Or that its original staff included a Sunrise Movement organizer who sat in at Pelosi's office with AOC and a DSA member who organized for Kamala Harris. NBC News described CAIS as having founded Humans First "to be a sort of Trojan horse to make AI safety issues more palatable to a conservative political audience." @ParkerThayer exposed the Action Network backend. The death penalty is explicitly prescribed by God—numerous times in Scripture—for murder, because the sacred dignity of human life requires it. Consistent capital punishment for murder and debauched child abuse is the only legitimate pro-life and pro-morality position. The government’s proper role and sacred duty is to administer justice—and biblical justice is not optional or negotiable. Deviating from this is a slippery slope to the precipice we now stand on today. 🙏🏼🇺🇸

Why is Israel getting blamed for trying to protect its citizens from hezbollah attacks? Iran funds and arms hezbollah, encourages them to kill israelis in israel and then blames israel for defending its own citizens. We should be focusing our anger on the iranian dictatorship not on a democracy fighting to protect its citizens
