#OTD in 1924, Gil Hodges was born in Princeton, IN. One of the most beloved players in Dodger history, he was the premier first baseman in the NL during the ‘50s. Additionally, he managed the Mets to their storybook 1969 finish. Here’s my painting of him with Brooklyn in 1952.

NEWS: Jamyn Sondrup, a 6-foot-9 center in the 2026 class, has committed to Purdue, he told @Rivals.
Sondrup will go on a two-year Mormon mission and will suit up for the Boilermakers in 2028.

@johnvoliva Generally teams travel with a limited number of items for backup, so having jerseys available in each size regardless of number is more prudent.
41 is probably the medium ‘blood jersey’ which is needed if someone gets blood on their jersey requiring it to be removed from play

@BoilerUniforms question for you - does the team not have backup jerseys with them? What happens is blood gets on the jersey? The player just changes to a different number?
