Ravens rookie Ja’Kobi Lane was a gangly 167-pound freshman at USC, but adjusted his diet, and as a junior this past fall, Lane played above 200 pounds, catching 49 passes for 745 yards and four touchdowns. He’s 21 years old with a 40-inch vertical, long strides, bigger hands than anyone who caught a pass from Lamar Jackson in 2025 and a freaky catch radius. @MiniMegal WAR is not, never has been and never will be a stat. It is a numeric value placed on a player taking multiple weighted statistics and analysis into account. The flaw in WAR is defense, defense is nearly completely subjective, yet it is weighted as equally as offensive production.

WAR is now a defunct stat. No sane person who actually watches the games would still say PCA is as valuable as a guy like Turang

@johnwifhat @Olsen_Don They use it as a tool, not an end all be all. The fact that they take cast offs every year and turn them into something tells you that analytics aren't the cause. Every teams uses analytics. Some teams like the os as a deciding factor in everything. The rays use it to tweak

@Olsen_Don I personally dont give a shit what someone's expected average is if their actual average is below that. All i care about is, are u getting on and if so is it with damage or not. Actual batting average, on base, and ops will tell u more about a player than any expected stat will.

The Baltimore Orioles lineup might have the best lineup in baseball. Whatever order Craig Albernaz chooses, he’s got Gunnar Henderson, Pete Alonso, Jordan Westburg, Taylor Ward, Adley Rutschman, Jackson Holliday, Sam Basallo, Dylan Beavers and Colton Cowser. A wrecking crew.
