You know, I was there in Istanbul, I was there in Madrid. I was in Qatar, I was there last season at the trophy lift and when it was won. I was even there when it was lifted during Covid. I’ve pretty much seen Liverpool lift the lot. But yesterday was something else. I didn’t cry at Charlottes Web or Watership Down, but tears were shed yesterday. And that’s the thing that non-league can do. It can give you times that mean just as much, if not more, than your ‘big’ team winning a trophy. It gives you a true connection and sense of belonging that you don’t get anymore. If you’ve never been bothered by non-league then honestly, try it. If you’re a normal human being and you feel that disconnect with football, go to your local club. See it for what it is. You will make memories that’ll last a lifetime.

Interesting to note that the @NorthernPremLge were represented at this appeal hearing by *checks notes* the “director at Sport Integrity Matters”. Sporting integrity certainly does matter ✊ Well done to the @FCUnitedMcr board for fighting this.

Interesting comments from Ebbsfleet United on the Club website suggesting that some clubs in National League are paying players off book to save PAYE/NI. Certainly plenty of anecdotal evidence that this is an issue. Website also says that the Club adhered to a zero-tolerance policy on lowering standards and compliance in regards to financial matters and payroll. Good to see standards are being set. Also worth noting that in 2024/25 all but one Clubs in the National League have published their accounts for the season. One club has used a loophole to delay publishing their accounts for three months. That club is...Ebbsfleet United!
