@AdamKinzinger I teach at a regional university. Definitely not a rich kids’ school. Nearly all my students have loans. And some of them - more than we’d like - don’t graduate. Often this is due to life events out of their control. Their loans remain regardless.

Many of my Democratic friends constantly say they are concerned they are losing blue collar America. How exactly does student loan forgiveness help this? Genuinely curious, from a political strategy perspective. Not even arguing just want to understand the reasoning.

I need help from @LansingMIFacts on this one. Are there any specifically mid-Michigan shibboleths? There are Michigan ones - place names e.g. Mackinac, a bunch of county names, and there's some more Detroit centric ones e.g. Dequindre, Schoenherr. But mid-Michigan specifically?

@ksluiter @ncte The conference fee shocked me. Combined with the airfare and hotel, it's going to be an extraordinarily expensive trip that goes way beyond my travel funding limit.

As a veteran, I would happily hand over Memorial Day this year in remembrance of all the innocent children killed by firearms in the last 12 months. Over 4,000 kids are killed every year in this country by guns. More than died during 9/11. An Iwo Jima of kids, every 2 years.
