@JoWiKi Agreed but I'm afraid we have dined too long at the table of tradition and may have missed our opportunity to truly make things right... the right way...

The problems have to actually be addressed and dealt with or the very, valid "number of missionaries" and their work will weaken and suffer.

I know we all know this but sometimes it feels like we don't. The Great Commission was being obeyed and is being obeyed before and outside of NAMB and IMB. It is known that I am a big fan and supporter of both. However, balance is important.

@JoWiKi I’ve learned that ministry is more like gardening than construction. Weeds grow fast but fruit blooms slow. So I’m always racing to catch the weeds but forced to be patient to see the fruit.

I can’t be the only pastor that constantly feels like I am… Moving too fast AND moving painfully slow. Doing too much AND not accomplishing anything. 😂 Right? Who else feels this way?

Bro. Junior Hill made an impact on my life that few others have ever made. He was a regular in the pulpit at @FBCJAX. His messages always brought conviction, which led to a greater love for the Lord. His sermon, “The Fallacy of Bigness” from Zech. 4:10 has proven to be a source of encouragement to me in the pastorate. Junior Hill will be remembered for… 1) Loving Jesus 2) Being gentle giant 3) Encouraging pastors 4) Sharing the gospel

I loved listening to Junior Hill preach at the JAX Pastors conference every year! What a blessing his ministry was on so many.

If your commitment to the authority of Scripture is limited by cultural sensitivities then it’s not really Scripture’s authority to which you are committed.

Many Christians are not living a quiet life. Too often we are tempted to be noticed, recognized, and promoted. The only one who deserves such attention is King Jesus. Pastors, let’s remember that we are servants of the King. The attention must be upon Him!

Pastors, you can focus on the @SBCExecComm or your local church. I’m not saying that the integrity of our cooperation is unimportant. I am saying that the integrity of the people you shepherd is more important. Peter said, “Shepherd the flock of God among you.” Much of the issues in the SBC can be summarized in our abandonment of the local church for the bureaucracy of a top-tiered system of entities. If we stopped looking to the CP to do the work of the church, we would be much better. For some have exchanged the personal responsibility of sharing the gospel to plant churches, going on mission to the nations, and discipling the next generation of pastors for sending a monthly check or taking up an annual offering. God help us!
