After launching the research preview of @grepdotai in December (built entirely by Claude Code) I went into the holidays with one question: what if the way we built an expert in due diligence was itself a platform for building an expert in *anything*? Came back from the 'break' with a working version. We wrapped everything we learned into our Claude Agents harness. Today we're releasing it as Grep. We research everything. The product we're about to buy. The company we're interviewing at. The city we're moving to. The competitor that just raised. The market we're entering. The legal clause we don't understand. What if you could spin up an expert in any of those and put them to work? We built exactly that. Created experts across dozens of domains and put them through their paces. The results? State of the art on DeepResearch Bench, beating an incredible lineup of AI companies, frontier labs, and research teams. We're rolling this out to early users now and adding more people over the next few days. We also have an API and MCPs so you can plug these experts directly into your day-to-day. But research is just the beginning. These experts can do anything. Start with research, then write the docs, build the deck, hell, build the whole company. @natpmanning Honestly, seeing the conversations over the last 24 hours has been eye-opening. The scapegoating on display has been disturbing. (with the occasional sprinkle of racism, sexism, etc.)

Blaming gov response exclusively for wildfires is like blaming a doctor for not saving your life on the operating table after you have eaten only sugar for your entire life. Let me be clear af. If it doesn’t rain for 8 months and you have 90 mph winds 🔥 will happen and get out of control. Scientists have been saying for decades that climate change will cause devastating crises. It’s an inconvenient truth.

One of the weirdest side effects of founding a startup called Raincoat, is the amount of spam I get from companies trying to sell me raincoats. 3-5 a week at minimum.

@LTV01 Un mentor me dijo una vez que lo mejor que yo podía hacer por el ecosistema de startups en PR era estar en los 'trenches', siempre visible. Que aunque solo tuviera fracasos, inspiraría a otros a intentarlo también. Es la única razón por la cual no soy un total hermit.

Nunca olvido una conversación con un expat, que está en sus high MMs, y me dijo: "Laura, cuando creas cosas a escala global y tienes éxito, también nutres tu misión de devolverle a PR. Quítate las gríngolas".
