We shipped something really cool today – all @sanity_io projects now come with their own remote MCP server that can be used to build customer-facing agents, AI workflows, Claude and ChatGPT apps, and anything else that supports the MCP protocol. Think of it as the agent equivalent of the existing HTTP API endpoint that delivers Sanity content to your front-end applications. Through the MCP endpoints, agents can query your content using both semantic search (we auto-generate a semantic index of your dataset) AND precise filters (using GROQ). This reduces risk of hallucination and lets agents run queries like "Products in stock, under $200, related to winter hiking", which translates to: ``` *[_type == "product" && inStock == true && price < 200] | score(text::semanticSimilarity("winter hiking")) | order(_score desc) { title, price, description, inStock }[0...5] ``` Easiest way to try this out is to run `npx skills add sanity-io/agent-context` and prompt your agent to "build a Sanity-powered agent for my site".
